87.3 to MA Starc, caught behind! Anderson has one. 85mph, full and shaping across the left-hander, Starc pins the ears back to thump a drive down the ground and gets a thick edge and Bairstow takes a good catch moving to his left. 358/7
2349914.309716001
84.5 to AT Carey, huge lbw shout given not out. England review. This looks very close. Good length, wobble seam angled into off, it nips further in off the seam and hits the back pad infront of middle. Ball tracking has it smashing the leg bail. Out! Good review. It looked out live. Not a great decision from Ahsan Raza. 351/6
24.4310034.0510411006
54.2 to M Labuschagne, caught behind! Robinson finds the outside edge! Wide of the crease, angled into a fourth stump line, wobble seam, Labuschagne defends only half forward, it nibbles away off the seam and scratches the outside edge. Huge wicket. 198/3
98.4 to NM Lyon, short ball, hook... line and sinker! Straight down to the man at fine leg, and England's plan to Lyon has worked (this week). Robinson gets a bit more oomph in his bouncer, the ball climbing to hit high on the bat, well held by Tongue above his head a few yards in from the rope. 408/9
100.4 to JR Hazlewood, flappy edge, taken at first slip! Robinson has the final word - at least for now - and England have wrapped up Australia in around 90 minutes of play in this morning session. Fullish in the channel, again Hazlewood drives without footwork and Root holds the catch in front of his phizzog. 416/10
2239834.459113101
23.1 to UT Khawaja, Tongue provides the breakthrough. His first Ashes wicket. A length ball outside off that nips back in to Khawaja's horror who had shouldered arms only to see the ball clatter into the exposed off stump. 73/1
29.5 to DA Warner, cleaned him up! Similar ball, just a fraction fuller and it rattles the top of middle and leg! 87mph, perfect length, shaping in and nipping further in off the seam, Warner drives but is beaten all ends up, through the big gate between bat and pad and Warner walks off to the death rattle. 96/2
95.2 to SPD Smith, gottim! Tongue licks Smith, finally. Pitched up and he launches into a booming drive, well snaffled in the gully. It's a slow walk back for Smith, who had got to three figures but does love to go big. Third wicket for Tongue, who gets just enough movement to catch the edge with a full ball on a slightly wide line. 393/8
312107.00144003
811922.37352000
74.2 to TM Head, Root gets Head stumped. Tossed up well outside off. Head was down the ground looking for a big hit but fails to connect as the ball turns further away from him. Good work by Bairstow behind the stumps to first collect the ball and then break the stumps. Head tried getting back but was off-balance and well short of his crease. 316/4
74.5 to C Green, Root has got two in the over. Short of length around off. Green goes back and looks to go big only to slice it towards mid-off where Anderson accepts a dolly. 316/5

45.3 to JE Root, short, swatted in the air... does Smith get to the catch?! It was a fantastic effort at backward square, the ball popped loose but he then got some body under it as he slid along the grass, ended up cupping it in the crook of his elbow. Root isn't going anywhere yet, though. This is going up to Marais Erasmus, who takes a couple of looks, and then gives it out! The main question was actually whether Smith grounded it as he attempted to get fingers under the ball. Very similar, in fact, to the Cameron Green catch in the WTC final, and Root has to depart! Australia have bounced out three in this crazy passage of play. 222/4
61.2 to BA Stokes, leading edge snaffled by Green at third slip! Good length angled into middle, it straightens a touch up the slope, Stokes plays across the line, closes the face, it flies off the leading edge to Green's right at a floating third slip and he snaffles it in those massive buckets. He clutched it in the long fingers actually as he stuck his hands out. Superb catch. That flew. 279/5
67.4 to HC Brook, short ball spliced to a cover fielder halfway to the rope! Good strategy and field setting from Australia. Another uncomfortable short ball, Brook backs away and tries to flat bat it down the ground, he's hurried and cramped as it follows him outside leg and just splices it high to cover, Cummins is placed deep in a limited overs ring type position and he takes a simple catch. 293/6
16.224612.81683010
76.2 to JC Tongue, bombed out! Simple catch at short leg! Short ball, aiming for the throat, Tongue gets into line but pops it tamely off the splice into the waiting hands of Matt Renshaw, the sub fielder under the lif. Job done for the Australians, who have bagged themselves a 91-run lead. 325/10
1317125.46387000
42.2 to BM Duckett, caught at fine leg! The top edge carries! Duckett falls two short of his century. Hazlewood has his foot behind the line. Well directed short ball over leg, he was a touch cramped trying to pull, gets a top edge that flies to a well placed Warner at a fine, fine leg and he takes the catch well. 208/3
72.2 to JM Bairstow, chipped to mid-on! Another one tied with a bow for Australia! Cummins and Hazlewood can scarcely believe their luck as the captain pouches the ball around knee height. It was clear what Bairstow was trying to do, but his attempt to pump the ball down the ground skewed off the inner half of the bat and picked out the fielder. England, with a long tail, are really in strife now. 311/7
1313512.69573000
17.5 to Z Crawley, got him, stumped down leg! Lyon gets Australia on the board, and Crawley can tootle back to the pavilion, two runs shy of his fifty. The length wasn't there as he looked to come down, the ball spinning behind the legs and Carey took it smartly to his left before bringing his hands back to break the bails. Actually brushed the pad, too, making it all the trickier. Superb work, fourth stumping of the series for him. 91/1
905416.00326006
38.1 to OJ Pope, holes out to deep backward square! The short ball plan works! 88mph bouncer, Pope takes it on trying to hit it for six, he pulls from low to high off the toe of the bat, it carries to the rope but not over it and Smith is there to take a well judged catch. 188/2
711722.42270000
75.1 to OE Robinson, Robinson charges down, nicks to the keeper! And if he didn't hit it, he would have been stumped... Quite a big edge as Robinson looked to smack Head around, and the part-time spinner picks up his first wicket. Well held by Carey, clutching the ball to his right shoulder. 324/8
75.5 to SCJ Broad, Broad sweeps and misses... given! He reviews but this only has to be clipping. And Hawk-Eye has the ball crashing into leg stump! Just a bit of grip and crashing into the front pad. Chris Gaffaney raised his finger for the second time, and Head has two in five balls. 325/9

1946413.368811000
40.1 to M Labuschagne, soft dismissal! Steers a catch to backward point! Labuschagne's run of luck ends. Short and wide, an easy cut shot but he doesn't really commit to the cut, just flaps at it and floats a catch to the man at backward point.. 123/2
24.586542.6112212001
61.6 to UT Khawaja, gottim, spooned to fine leg! Leg theory does the job for England, and Broad is the man to provide the breakthrough in his first over of the day. Khawaja hadn't been entirely comfortable with this line of attack and he won't be getting on the honours board despite another doughty knock. Broad got it up above shoulder height and a big top edge ballooned to Potts, several yards in off the rope. 187/3
67.3 to TM Head, bumped out! Root scoops it up at short leg! Broad knocks off Head with the short ball, and England are scrapping again. Superbly directed, right into the armpit and Head can only fend it away, the ball looping at a nice height to the left of Root as he springs across to take the catch one-handed. 197/5
95.2 to PJ Cummins, got him this time, popped to gully! Cummins has been ducking and weaving but finally ends up in the crosshairs. He's off his feet at the ball jams into the shoulder of the bat and loops up for an easy take behind square. 261/8
101.5 to NM Lyon, gone, plinked to midwicket! Broad persists with the short ball to the very end and Lyon finally miscues one straight up. Safely held by Stokes, who then goes to give Lyon a pat on the back. What an extraordinary passage of play we've just seen - at a ground that has seen plenty over the years. 279/10
2045322.65965130
24.1 to DA Warner, struck on the pads by one nipping in, given! Warner reviews straight away. Will be tight unless he's hit it... which he hasn't. And ball-tracking has it demolishing leg stump! Maybe bluffed a touch by the short-ball field, Warner finally gets one with his name on it. Tongue has bowled well, and he's now removed Warner in both innings. 63/1
62.4 to SPD Smith, hello, hello... Smith picks out deep backward square! Chaotic scenes at Lord's, and England have removed both set batters while dropping the new man in between whiles! Tongue bounces out Smith, again the ball getting bigger than expected but he still took it on, lollipopping a simple catch to one of the men stationed out there. 190/4
26114821.841315020
87.3 to C Green, holes out to deep square! Green succumbs! He has been resisting for so long. Chest high short ball, he tried to hit it for six and didn't get it, he picks out Duckett 10 metres in from the rope. England's plan works. 239/6
89.1 to AT Carey, gloved to short leg, another one goes! Simple catch for Root, and Carey walks. Not too much he could do here, having been peppered constantly - other than wear it. Having battled it out for 73 balls, this time the hands come up instinctively in front of the shoulder and the ball pops up off the top hand. Robinson gets a second as England continue to chip away. 242/7
1212612.16602015
96.4 to JR Hazlewood, turned straight to short leg! Back of a length on the body and Hazlewood just tickles it to Root via his thigh pad. Stokes sticks up an arm wearily. This journey's almost at an end. 264/9

2.1 to Z Crawley, strangled down the leg side! Full and swinging well down the leg side, he tried to glance away from his pads and just got a little tickle on it and Carey takes an excellent catch diving to his left! Crawley knew he hit it. Chris Gaffaney took awhile to give it but he marched off frustrated without objection. 9/1
4.2 to OJ Pope, bowled him! Absolute seed! Middle stump flattened! Starc on fire. Full and fast, 90mph, swinging from outside off stump back to middle and leg, Pope's head falls, the ball swerves back past the inside edge, brushed the front pad and knocks middle out of the ground!. 13/2
81.3 to JC Tongue, bowled 'im! Starc removes leg stump, Australia go 2-0! There won't be a Tongue twist to finish, despite a gutsy effort. Jumped away and swung without success, as Starc finally targeted the woodwork. Australia win an extraordinary Lord's Test by 43 runs, and they have a hand on retaining the Ashes. 327/10
2526932.761045021
12.2 to JE Root, fended to first slip! A brute from Cummins! Warner pouches it. Back of a length, fifth stump, Root tried to play his trademark push to point with an open bat face but this reared up sharply and he jumped with it and could only edge it to first slip from infront of his face. Easy catch for Warner.. 41/3
12.5 to HC Brook, Bowled him! Peach! Top of off knocked back. Wow. Angled in from wide of the crease, just straightening a touch of the seam up the slope, Brook caught on the crease and completely squared up is beaten all ends up and it crashes into the top of off! Sensational. 45/4
73.1 to OE Robinson, hooks and taken by the tumbling Smith! Robinson doesn't last long and Australia are two away. Cummins went short, got the ball to climb high and Robinson's top-edged pull towards the Grandstand didn't have anywhere near enough on it. Smith scampered around at deep backed square and makes no mistake this time, having put down an easier chance off Stokes. 302/8
1808034.44746322
45.4 to BM Duckett, gottim, gloved behind! Silence descends on Lord's as Carey holds a leaping one-hander above his head! Duckett had been playing the short ball well, picking and choosing which ones to take on... but this one climbs on him, and flicked up through to the keeper. Duckett walks off crestfallen, short of a century for the second time in the match. Hazlewood breaks through, and Australia can breathe a sigh. 177/5
72.1 to BA Stokes, short, top-edged... and Stokes is GONE! He bows over his bat as the Australians converge in celebration. Lord's will rise again, but with a sense of trepidation as another Stokes epic comes to a quiet end. He threw the hands but completely miscued the shot, the ball sailing towards backward point where Carey settled underneath it. There's the twist. Australia favourites again. 301/7
74.2 to SCJ Broad, short and nasty, hoicked to fine leg! Broad backs away and swings blindly, but the top edge flies into the grateful mitts of Cameron Green plunging forward to hold it safely in the deep. Lord's is silent, bar the sound of celebrating Australians... Broad heads off for one of the more storied 11s, as Australia close in. 302/9
402305.75131100
1337315.61528331
51.6 to JM Bairstow, another half-tracker, YJB ducks it, walks out of his crease to talk to his partner... and Carey then underarms into the stumps! The Australians are celebrating, Bairstow looks befuddled and we could have another flashpoint here! The batter clearly considered that the ball was dead, but Marais Erasmus is going to decide once again... And this one is given out! Boos around the ground as Bairstow stalks back to the dressing room. He wasn't attempting to take a run, but the ball wasn't dead either - at least as far as the umpires are concerned, which is the key factor. 193/6
