Virat Kohli: four double-tons in four series

4 Number of consecutive series in which Virat Kohli has scored a double-century. This is the longest such sequence, going past Don Bradman and Rahul Dravid who had done it in three successive series. Kohli's streak began on India' tour to West Indies last year.

1 Player who has more two-hundred-plus scores as captain than Kohli's four - Brian Lara made five. Bradman, Michael Clarke and Graeme Smith also made four two-hundred-plus scores as captain. For India, their previous 31 captains combined hit only four 200-plus scores.

3 India batsmen who have scored more 200-plus scores than Kohli's four. Virender Sehwag and Sachin Tendulkar lead with six two-hundred-plus scores each and Dravid made five. Sunil Gavaskar also made four. No other player has scored more than two two-hundred-plus scores for India.

1 India became the first team to score 600-plus in three consecutive innings. They made 631 in Mumbai and 759 in Chennai, in the last two Tests against England before putting up 687 in this match, their fifth-highest total.

There have been several instances of two two-hundred-plus scores in two Tests, the last of which was in 2013 against Australia when Cheteshwar Pujara and MS Dhoni did it in successive matches.
