South Africa v Bangladesh

At Potchefstroom, October 3, 2002 (day/night)

15-Apr-2004
At Potchefstroom, October 3, 2002 (day/night). South Africa won by 168 runs. Toss: South Africa.
Gibbs became only the third batsman, after Pakistan's Zaheer Abbas and Saeed Anwar, to score hundreds in three consecutive one-day internationals as South Africa claimed the first of a series of crushing victories. Gibbs was imperious, reaching his highest one-day score before holing out to deep square leg. He faced 130 balls and hit 17 fours and three sixes. Bangladesh were never likely to threaten South Africa's huge total - certainly not from 26 for five -and settled for drawing small comforts, notably a partnership of 60, their eighth-wicket best, between the captain, Khaled Masud, and Tapash Baisya. Then Kallis wrapped up the match with three wickets in five balls.
Man of the Match: H. H. Gibbs. Attendance: 2,168.
