BANGLADESH v INDIA

At Chandigarh, December 25

15-Apr-1992
At Chandigarh, December 25. India won by nine wickets. Toss: Bangladesh. India had no problem overhauling Bangladesh's 170 with 13.1 overs to spare, though their inexperienced visitors deserved some credit for surviving 50 overs for the loss of only six wickets. Sidhu's unbeaten 104, from 109 balls, included ten fours and three sixes, and he shared an opening stand of 121 with Raman. Bangladesh had recovered from a shaky start of 28 for two when Faruq Ahmed and Ather Ali Khan, both of whom were dropped off the bowling of Wassan, shared a third-wicket stand of 108. But the batsmen who followed could add only 34 in the last nine overs; it was never going to be enough.
Man of the Match: N. S. Sidhu.
