Boon and Jones went with just six scored, and Australia's only hint of recovery was the third-wicket stand of 46 between Marsh and Border. Earlier, the Indian batsmen had made uneven progress: Srikkanth's slogging brought him eight fours and 60 invaluable runs off as many balls, while Tendulkar and Amre grafted 46 for the fifth wicket.
